Linguini with Clams

This dish was so tasty! The clams were cooked perfectly and the linguini wasn't too filling. It was in a light buttery cream sauce and it was such a delight to eat. I would order this again. All their food is amazing!

Baked Brie

LOVE the Baked Brie while enjoying a cocktail at the indoor or outdoor bar. The perfect place to cap off a day on BI! Also LOVED the new Salmon Quinoa Salad added to the menu this year. It's a great fresh option for lunch or dinner...Hoping it returns in 2022!

My wife and I stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights this September. What a beautiful place. The staff took their time waiting on us like family. Our room was very nice and spotless. The food was to die for. Can't wait to go back with AAA Wade tours taking us there!! The Okeefes

Bistro Salad

What a pleasure to enjoy lunch on the National's wide, cozy porch on a beautiful, sunny day, overlooking the blue water. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious bistro salad and a glass of Rose'. Perfect! The salad was such a delicious mixture of fresh ingredients and dressing. My sisters enjoyed steaming bowls of creamy clam chowder which they proclaimed very yummy! Definitely will be back to try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Bucatini Pomodori

This simple dish was in fact sublime. The bucatini (spaghetti noodle with a hole running through it) was perfectly cooked, al dente to the point where biting into the noodles was texturally fabulous. The use of bucatini made the plate so much more interesting; both light and substantial. The dish had less of an overt sauce, but instead a delicious compilation of cooked tomatoes, small pieces of garlic, herbs and other ingredients that delivered complex and unique flavoring. It was greatly enhanced by the partially melted cheese that had been sprinkled on top. This dish was the best Italian food I have ever eaten.

New England Clam Chowder

It is absolutely the best chowder on the island. The flavor is amazing and compares to no other. I look forward to it, every year!

New England Clam Chowder

I was on Block Island just for the day with two of my sisters and my sister-in-law. We decided to eat at the National Hotel on the recommendation from our taxi driver who drove us around the Island. I thoroughly enjoyed the New England Clam chowder. I also had a side of French fries. The chowder was delicious. It was very creamy and had the perfect amount of clams and potatoes. The French fries were nice and crispy. Just how I like them. I commented to my sisters how delicious my meal was. They said the same. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Block Island to dine at the National Hotel.

New England Clam Chowder

Always heard that this was the chowder to have. It did not disappoint. While seated on the open deck facing Old Harbor, we each had a bowl of chowder with oyster crackers on the side. Fantastic. As the weather was cooler than normal the chowder hit the spot. Thanks again for a great lunch of chowder, friends and memories for a lifetime.
